After a series of Neowin attacks, DDos to be exact, Neobond and his group are determined to put a stop to the insanity. A 12yr old child has been delegating the attacks upon Neowin and a number of other sites as well. The attacker has not 1 but an army of attacking points in which he uses to zero into his victim. We will keep monitoring this as it is likely it will be down again !

There is a flaw in the way the kernel passes error messages to a debugger. A vulnerability results because an attacker could write a program to exploit this flaw and run code of their choice. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability to take any action on the system including deleting data, adding accounts with administrative access, or reconfiguring the system.

Microsoft has released an update package to enhance the current functionality of the Layer Two Tunneling Protocol (L2TP) and Internet Protocol security (IPSec) on computers that are running Windows XP or Windows 2000. This update includes improvements to IPSec to better support virtual private network (VPN) clients behind network address translation (NAT) devices by implementing NAT as specified in the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) RFC 3193 and draft-02 of the IETF NAT-T specification. The update also includes additional support for stronger IPSec protection by using the 2048-bit Diffie-Hellman algorithm (Group 14).

There is a patch out for all you messenger fans, and it patches Messenger 6.0 (0250) to run all your games except bejewelled.
The Current patch if used with, the ad-remover patch might not work entirely which is where all you experts come in handy.

This release will be followed up with a final official driver update that will integrate the performance features with the core driver and application set. I have disabled the previous post because people were making comments that hinder this site not help it. We are as bad as the attackers if we start posting logs, IP addresses and personal information. The attacks seem to have stopped for now but I have been told this is only temporary, we'll post news and try to deliver a service like we always do.
