11.313.2004 - Scientific-Atlanta Licenses Sonic AuthorScript® CE

Marin County, California (November 8, 2004) — Sonic Solutions® (NASDAQ: SNIC) announced today that it has entered into a multi-year agreement with Scientific-Atlanta, Inc., a leading supplier of digital interactive set-top boxes for the cable industry, to license AuthorScript CE, Sonic's engine for DVD and CD formatting, recording, and playback for consumer electronics devices, which Scientific-Atlanta intends to embed in certain models of its popular Digital Video Recorder (DVR) set-top boxes. By licensing Sonic's AuthorScript CE, Scientific-Atlanta can offer important benefits to both cable service providers and consumers.
