07.29.2009 - Kids Explore Reefs, Rainforests with Intel-powered classmate PCs

Yesterday, in celebration of National Parent's Day (July 26), Intel hosted its first "Summer Tech Day" at the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco. Parents and children experienced first-hand the hardware and software features of the Intel® Learning Series as they discovered how the convertible classmate PC, purpose-built for K-12 education, offers a mobile and collaborative learning environment. Intel's Jeff Galinovsky and Kapil Wadera were on hand to discuss the WebCam Companion*, ArtRage* and Kidspiration* programs, while children learned about the underwater ecosystem with the kid-friendly PC in hand.
