Russian meteorologists are working to save lives and property from severe weather using Intel Xeon processor-powered systems from Silicon Graphics. To develop faster, more accurate forecasts, Russia's National Weather Service, Roshydromet, is increasing its computational power by 10,000 fold with SGI Altix ICE systems operating at 27 TFLOPS.
