CUPERTINO, Calif. - Oct. 26, 2004 - Symantec Corp. (NASDAQ: SYMC), the global leader in information security, today announced at Storage Networking World in Orlando the expansion of its strategic security partnership with Network Appliance, Inc. (NASDAQ: NTAP) to include storage availability that will benefit Windows customers by providing fast system and data protection and recovery. Symantec LiveState Recovery Advanced Server 3.0, Symantec's disk-based system and data recovery solution, has been validated to be interoperable with NetApp enterprise IP SAN storage systems. This allows Windows customers to recover data stored on NetApp iSCSI volumes in a fraction of the time required for alternative tape-based recovery solutions. In addition, Symantec LiveState Recovery Advanced Server 3.0 can store any Windows boot volume on the cost-effective NetApp networked storage, allowing companies to do bare-metal recovery of critical Windows servers without the time-consuming, labor-intensive process of file-based tape recovery solutions.
