These drivers include DirectX9.0 support for Windows 98/ME/2000/XP
ATI has seemed to narrowed the problems with NFSHP2.
"Running the game Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2 with all options set to maximum and the display set to 1024x768 32bpp results in a system hang. This issue occurs with the RADEON™ 8500 under the Windows 98/98SE and Millennium edition operating systems."

Sorry, folks but these STILL do not fix the problems with NFSHP2. Quote: "Need For Speed 2 may potentially hang in very high detail levels. ATI recommends turning down the World Details and Special Effects options down one notch to avoid hangs. A fix will be delivered in a future CATALYST release."
