Blizzard has announced that many of the interface and Battle.net enhancements created for Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne will soon be available to players of the original game. The 1.10 update will make several enhancements to the Warcraft III interface, adding a minimap view that shows creep locations, the ability to queue buildings, and the ability to put both units and upgrades in the same queue. The update also adds clan support and a range of other Battle.net features, such as a new "referee" observer type and new filtering options.

Approximately 10,000 beta testers will be chosen randomly in the initial phase of the beta test from the pool of qualified applicants. Applicants must be 13 years of age or older, have the bandwidth capability to download 100 MB of data, have a valid email address, and possess a valid Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos CD-Key to be eligible to enter the beta test. Testers that are chosen to participate in the beta test will be notified by e-mail.
