Disabling information alerts in Backup Exec for NT/2000 v8.x |

Symptom: You open up Backup Exec and it always has the informational alerts popping up.
Solution: To automatically respond to the alerts complete the following.
1. Stop All Backup Exec Services from Services in the Control Panel.
2. Run regedit from Start | Run.
3. Find the following registry key.

[HKEY_Local_Machine/Software/Veritas/Backup Exec/Server/] |
Value Name: Use Default Info Alert Timeout Flag |
Data Type: REG_DWORD |
Value: 0 |
4. You Need to switch the value from 0 to 1.
5. Find the following registry key.
Registry Editor |
Key:
[HKEY_Local_Machine/Software/Veritas/Backup Exec/Server/] |
Value Name: Default Info Alert Timeout |
Data Type: REG_DWORD |
Value: 4320 |
6: You need to change the value to 1 to specify a time out of 1 minute before the program automatically responds to the informational alert.
