Impossible to boot from a USB Zip Drive (TTID #5)

Author: Kevin   Views: 25,302 /  Created: January 1, 2001
I received an email regarding using Symantec® Norton Ghost™ and an Iomega® USB Zip® drive on a PC for performing a complete system recovery. I decided to contact Iomega on the issue. The information I received from one of their technical support representatives was a bit disturbing. Apparently Iomega® fails to provide a way of accessing this USB device with a guest disk. Booting from the USB version on the Zip® drive is not possible, on the PC platform. So unless someone comes up with DOS based USB driver, the Iomega® USB Zip® drive is useless when it comes to this task.
