Antec Power Supply Testers a possible hazard (TTID #394)

Author: TACKtech Team   Views: 10,574 /  Created: April 24, 2007
WARNING: Antec Power Supply Testers may over heat and cause damage.

We contacted Antec, Inc. and were provided the following information from their Technical Support Department:

ATX12V PSU Tester's will become warm after a minute of use and should not be left connected for more than a couple minutes. Leaving a unit attached to a power supply for an extended period of time may void the warranty.

We suggested adding an auto-shut-off safety feature to the Power Supply Tester and a notation in the manual regarding possible over heating.
