An attacker could exploit the vulnerability by constructing a web page that, when opened, would call the errant function and supply the name of an existing file or folder as the argument. The attempt to upload the file or folder would fail, but the file nevertheless would be deleted. The page could be hosted on a web site in order to attack users visiting the site, or could be sent as an HTML mail in order to attack the recipient when it was opened.

An attacker who is able to authenticate to a SQL server could delete, insert or update all the web tasks created by other users. In addition, the attacker could run already created web tasks in the context of the creator of the web task. This typically runs in the context of the SQL Server Agent service account.

It is possible to maliciously use field codes and external updates to secretly steal information from a user. Certain events can trigger the external update and the field code to be updated: for example, when the user saves a document or manually updates the links. Typically, the user is aware of these updates when they occur. However, a specially crafted field code or external update can be used to trigger an update without any indication to the user. This can permit an attacker to create a document that, when opened, updates itself to include the contents of a file from the user's local computer.

Advanced Registry Tracer (ART for short) is an utility designed for analysing the changes made to Windows Registry - by making the "snapshots" of it and keeping them in the browsable database. You can compare any two snapshots and get the list of keys/data which are new, deleted or just changed. ART can do comparing not only in the entire Regisrty, but also in any key of the Registry. It is also possible to exclude any keys of the Registry from compare results. Moreover, you can create undo/redo files (for example, to rollback the changes). To view the current state of a key, or to modify it, you can use Jump to Regedit function. Contents of any key can be exported to *.reg file.

Style XP is not a skinning engine. It uses Microsoft's built-in visual style engine, but enhances it by providing many useful tools. Style XP can import, select, rotate, and manage themes, visual styles, wallpapers, and logons. Future versions may support sounds, cursors, screensavers, and packages of all the above. How does it work? Instead of lines and gradients, the XP user interface natively supports the use of skinned bitmap controls (a visual style). This is Microsoft's own innovation. Style XP includes its own visual styles.
