Advanced Archive Password Recovery (or ARCHPR for short) can be used to recover lost or forgotten passwords to ZIP (PKZip, WinZip), ARJ/WinARJ, RAR/WinRAR and ACE/WinACE (1.x) archives. At the moment, there is no known method to extract the password from such compressed files, so the only available methods are "brute force" and dictionary attacks (for ARJ and ZIP formats, known-plaintext attack is also available).

This program (Advanced PDF Password Recovery, or simply APDFPR) can be used to decrypt protected Adobe Acrobat PDF files, which have "owner" password set, preventing the file from editing (changing), printing, selecting text and graphics (and copying them into the Clipboard), or adding/changing annotations and form fields (in any combination). Decryption is being done instantly. Decrypted file can be opened in any PDF viewer (e.g. Adobe Acrobar Reader) without any restrictions -- i.e. with edit/copy/print functions enabled. All versions of Adobe Acrobat (including 5.x, which features 128-bit encryption) are supported. The program is also able to convert Kinko's Document Format (KDF) files to PDF files (without any protection).

An attacker could exploit the vulnerability by constructing a URL that, when clicked on by the user, would execute code of the attacker’s choice in the Local Computer security context. The URL could be hosted on a web page, or sent directly to the user in email. In the web based scenario, where a user then clicked on the URL hosted on a website, an attacker could have the ability to read or launch files already present on the local machine. In the case of an e-mail borne attack, if the user was using Outlook Express 6.0 or Outlook 2002 in their default configurations, or Outlook 98 or 2000 in conjunction with the Outlook Email Security Update, then an attack could not be automated and the user would still need to click on a URL sent in e-mail. However if the user was not using Outlook Express 6.0 or Outlook 2002 in their default configurations, or Outlook 98 or 2000 in conjunction with the Outlook Email Security Update, the attacker could cause an attack to trigger automatically without the user having to click on a URL contained in an e-mail.

We were curious why Intel changed the current BIOS version for the D845EBG2 from P06 back to P04. After a brief conversation with Intel Technical Support the answer was acquired. It seems that some boards would no longer post after updating to P06. The boards will only beep. If you encounter this problem simply do a BIOS recover and flash the BIOS back to version P04. Intel Engineers are working on creating an updated BIOS flash which will be released soon.
