04.01.2008 - Nokia's WiMAX-ready Internet Tablet Arrives

Today at the CTIA Wireless show in Las Vegas, Nokia unveiled its pocket-sized N810 Internet Tablet* WiMAX Edition, one of the first open Internet devices designed to take advantage of mobile WiMAX networks. As announced at WiMAX World Chicago last September, it is also the first to use the Intel® WiMAX Connection 2400 silicon (previously codenamed Baxter Peak) optimized for mobile Internet and CE devices with low power consumption. Nokia said the device is expected to be available in the U.S. this summer in areas where WiMAX connectivity is available from the Sprint Xohm* network and will allow users to easily and quickly access all of their favorite Internet services beyond local area hot spots.
