11.12.2007 - Intel and Sunflowers???

View Intel-Press related news. We've temporarily adopted the sunflower as a symbol of Intel's innovative new Penryn family of processors - introduced today and built using the company's 45 nanometer and Hafnium-based high-k metal gate transistor technology. Why? Sunflowers have the unique ability to pull lead and other materials from the dirt, improving the environment. And, for the first time, Intel's new products also eliminate lead and in 2008 halogen. Intel's 45nm manufacturing process results in a 15 percent reduction in Intel's global warming emissions. Over time, with almost 300 million PCs shipping a year and growing, that makes the environment a little bit better, too. Paul Otellini's keynote speech at Oracle Open World is on November 13 at 8:30 a.m. Paul will underscore Oracle and Intel's mutually successful work together that takes advantage of Intel's industry leading architecture and processors -- the best, most adaptable platforms for the always competitive IT environments of today and tomorrow. Intel will also lead six technical training sessions, and will provide information on Intel's new 45nm-based Xeon® processors. Also be sure to visit the Inside Innovation Zone, an innovative experiential display, at the conference.
